It is primary day in California. The ballot includes elections for president, Congress, the Legislature, the county Board of Supervisors and the Superior Court, among others. The Times recommends:

Republican nomination: No endorsement.
House of Representatives, 44th District: Nanette Barragán.
Los Angeles County District Attorney: Jackie Lacey.
Los Angeles County Supervisor, 2nd District: Mark Ridley-Thomas.
Los Angeles County Supervisor, 4th District: Janice Hahn.
Los Angeles County Supervisor, 5th District: Ara Najarian.
Los Angeles County Superior Court
Office 84: Susan Jung Townsend.
Office 165: Kathryn Solórzano.
