North American farm machinery manufacturers increased production 31% last year, ending a seven-year slump as the agricultural economic forecast brightened, an industry journal reported. Stark’s Off-Highway Ledger attributed the higher output to widespread rebuilding of dealer inventories in anticipation of higher sales of tractors and self-propelled combines.
