Injury Forces Bowser to Miss CCAA Opener

Todd Bowser, Cal State Northridge’s 6-8, 270-pound sophomore center, will miss at least one more basketball game because of a bruised left knee.
Bowser, who leads the Matadors in rebounding with an average of 7.9 a game, was injured in a car accident Friday night.
He did not suit up for Northridge’s nonconference game against Biola on Tuesday and will miss the California Collegiate Athletic Assn. opener against Cal State Los Angeles on Friday at home.
Bowser, who is averaging 13.4 points a game, visited his family doctor and was told not to practice for a week. He was fitted with a brace to reduce swelling.
Allan Fraser, a 6-6 junior transfer from Fullerton College, has replaced Bowser in the lineup. Fraser is averaging 6.3 points and 4.5 rebounds in 21 minutes of playing time a game.
