Two people were injured Monday in a four-car crash that closed Carbon Canyon Road in Brea for about an hour Monday afternoon.
One of the injured, Tom Dunn Cass, 58, of Chino, was arrested on drunk-driving charges. He and Reidel Post, 32, of Anaheim, were taken to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, where they were both listed in stable condition Tuesday, a hospital spokesman said.
Police said Cass was traveling eastbound on Carbon Canyon Road at about 12:56 p.m. when he crossed into the westbound lane and slammed head on into a car driven by Post.
Post then continued westbound out of control, first striking the guardrail on her side, then crossing into the opposite lane, where she collided with a car driven by Henry Lee, 30, of Chino Hills, police said.
Post finally crashed into the guardrail of the westbound lane, where her left front tire broke off.
