F. W. Woolworth Co. said it plans to open more than 800 new stores in 1988, up from 681 last year. The company said the biggest increase will be in its Kinney Shoe Store division and its Afterthoughts chain. The New York-based retailer also reported that estimated capital expenditures for 1988 are $268 million, compared to last year’s $244 million.
