Driver, 84, Dies of Crash Injuries

An 84-year-old man died of injuries he received in a two-car collision near Montrose.
Michael Malouf of La Canada Flintridge died at 7:02 p.m. Saturday at Verdugo Hills Hospital as a result of massive head trauma, said Sgt. Dean Duran of the Glendale Police Department.
The driver of the second car, Peter Olson, 30, of Glendale, was treated and released.
Duran said the accident occurred at 2:15 p.m. Saturday at Ocean View Boulevard and Broadview Drive. Olson’s vehicle was traveling north on Ocean View when it struck the side of Malouf’s car, which was traveling west on Broadview, Duran said.
Duran said neither driver was wearing a seat belt.
