Fire Demolishes Empty Lumberyard

A fire at an abandoned Lemon Grove lumberyard sent a spectacular plume of smoke billowing hundreds of feet into the air early Sunday evening but did little damage.
Damage was confined to the abandoned Ward Lumber Co. building, which collapsed. Cause of the fire has not been determined.
