LACC, Reviving Its Sports Programs, Names Jack Boyer Athletic Director
- Share via
Jack Boyer has been named athletic director at Los Angeles City College, heading an athletic program that has been non-existent for three years.
Boyer, who has been at LACC for 31 years, formerly coached the school’s football team. He said that three sports will resume in the fall, basketball, cross-country and track and field.
Reggie Morris, former coach at Manual Arts High School, which this year won the state championship, will coach the basketball team, and George Mehale, a former assistant coach at USC, will coach the cross-country and track teams.
Baseball has been the only sport to endure at the school. All other sports were dropped because of budget considerations.
Football, golf and tennis are scheduled to be added in 1990.
