A federal grand jury in Seattle indicted 23 people for attempting to smuggle more than 70 tons of marijuana to the county. The indictments stemmed from Coast Guard seizure last month of pot worth $280 million aboard a ship, from Southeast Asia, off the Washington coast. Among the charged was the alleged ringleader, Brian Peter Daniels, 42, a New Yorker who lives in Bangkok and who was arrested Monday in Switzerland.
