The San Diego Chapter of the American Institute of Wine & Food will sponsor its third Annual Auction and Western Roundup at the home of Piret and George Munger, 4866 Sun Valley Road, Del Mar, Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
The cost is $15 for members and $30 for non-members. A Southwest potluck buffet featuring Munger’s trash-can chili will be served prior to the auction at 1:30 p.m.
Among the more than 50 wining and dining items contributed for auction are special packages including a weekend for six at Pinnacle House in the Chalone Vineyards, three nights at Lila and Bill Yeager’s Victorian Guest House at St. Helena in the Napa Valley, a dim sum dinner for two at the China Moon Cafe in San Francisco and lunch for four at the Arizona 206 in New York City.
Wine buffs can choose from a dozen select vintages ranging from a 1927 Crofts Port to a jeroboam of Domaine Chandon Champagne.
Guests are urged to wear Western attire and flat shoes. A portion of the proceeds will be used for restoration, acquisition and cataloguing of the Simon-Lowenstein Library established by AIWF at UC Santa Barbara.
