Three people have been arrested in a drug raid that also resulted in the confiscation of more than 100 pounds of cocaine, authorities said.
The arrests at a 39th Street apartment came as the suspects prepared to deliver the contraband to undercover agents Friday, said Ron D’Ulisse of the Drug Enforcement Administration.
At least one person eluded the dragnet, fleeing in a car as agents closed in on the apartment, officials said.
D’Ulisse estimated that the cocaine had a wholesale value of $750,000.
The raid culminated a six-month investigation by Operation Alliance, a cooperative drug enforcement effort among federal, state and local agencies.
The three suspects face charges of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. They were booked into the federal Metropolitan Correctional Center downtown, D’Ulisse said.
