World champion Formula 40 skipper Randy Smyth of Huntington Beach sailed his Super Lube Formula 40 catamaran to victory Sunday at the Salem ProSail Series.

The two-day regatta at Newport Yachting Center was the inaugural race in the first professional sailboat racing series in the United States.

In each class, four races were held Saturday and three races Sunday. The winner was determined by an aggregate, low-point scoring system.
