Mike Lynn, general manager of the Minnesota Vikings, has secured greater control of the National Football League team. He announced that John Skoglund, the club’s chairman of the board and one of its original owners, has added his one-third voting interest to the one-third interest of a group headed by Lynn.
The move gives Lynn’s group control of two-thirds of the voting stock as Lynn fends off a takeover bid by Minneapolis businessmen Carl Pohlad and Irwin Jacobs.
