One person suffered minor injuries in a three-vehicle chain-reaction pileup that started when a tractor-trailer rig sideswiped a compact car Tuesday afternoon on the San Diego Freeway, authorities said.
California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Lundquist said the truck, driven by Jose Sanchez, 28, of Santa Ana, hit a Hyundai on the southbound San Diego Freeway near Harbor Boulevard at 1:20 p.m.
The Hyundai spun, ejecting the driver, Susan Hermann, 29, of Huntington Beach. While Hermann’s car was spinning, it was hit by a van driven by Gabriel Bauer, 27, of South Laguna, Lundquist said.
Hermann, who was treated at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital & Medical Center, suffered only minor injuries. Sanchez and Bauer were not hurt, Lundquist said.
