The Good Ol’ Days Turn Out to Be Rotten

DALLAS — A highlight of the 1988 Texas State Fair was to have been the unsealing of a time capsule buried 50 years ago. As it turned out today, the only information gained from the era is that capsule-sealing technology was not good.
“Everything was totally decomposed,” said Lyndell Williams, executive vice president of the Texas Press Assn., which undertook the burying of the capsule in 1938.
