The Keith Cos., a Costa Mesa-based planning, engineering and architecture firm, said it bought RMG Engineering Inc. in Irvine and Butterfield Engineering & Survey Co. in Elsinore, acquiring more than 100 new employees to bring its total employment to 400.
Both of the acquired companies were part of publicly held Symcon Group Inc.
Keith said RMG had been operating on “limited financial resources” and would get more capital as a Keith subsidiary.
Aram Keith, president of Keith Cos., had been president of RMG for seven years before starting his own firm about five years ago.
No price was disclosed, a spokesman said.
