Handling Drug Problem Shows NFL Hypocrisy
- Share via
The NFL last week may have guaranteed itself entry into the Hall of Shame. Or was that the Hall of Sham?
As Scott Ostler pointed out in his column (Oct. 1), the NFL seems to have no problem with admitted steroid users.
Then we have the 30?-day suspensions for illegal drug use. The NFL, in a blatant act of hypocrisy, lets players back on the Wednesday before their 30-day suspension ends “as an accommodation to the players and their teams.”
Isn’t it funny that last year after the strike ended players weren’t allowed back to their teams because of the “risk of injury.” Maybe in that case, though, not allowing them to play was an “accommodation to their team.” I wonder.
