Norman, Benjamin Lead Clippers, 111-101

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Forward Ken Norman scored a game-high 28 points and center Benoit Benjamin added 18 to lead the Clippers to a 111-101 exhibition victory over the Golden State Warriors Tuesday night.
The Clippers improved their exhibition record to 2-1, and the Warriors fell to 0-3 under new coach Don Nelson.
Rookie guard Mitch Richmond scored 10 of his team-high 22 points in the opening 8 minutes to give Golden State an early 16-9 lead. But the Clippers then went on a 14-2 run for a 23-16 lead and were never threatened.
Gary Grant scored 14 and Grant Gondrezick added 10 for the Clippers, who opened their biggest lead, 108-87, with 4:20 left in the game.
Otis Smith scored 20, and Rod Higgins and Chris Mullin each added 14 for Golden State.
