High School Top 10 : Despite Defeat, El Camino Moves Up to Fifth Spot
- Share via
SAN DIEGO — Rancho Buena Vista defeated El Camino, 26-21, Friday to maintain its No. 1 ranking, but the loss also did quite a bit for El Camino, which moved from No. 9 to No. 5 in The Times’ San Diego county high school football rankings.
El Camino moved up in part because of its near upset of Rancho Buena Vista, but also because 4 of last week’s top 10 lost. San Dieguito fell from No. 5 to No. 8, San Pasqual from No. 6 to No. 9 and Patrick Henry out of the rankings from No. 8.
Morse’s 40-14 victory over Patrick Henry also helped to move the Tigers past Oceanside from the No. 3 to the No. 2 spot.
