The identity of a male passenger who died with the pilot of a single-engine plane that crashed into a warehouse Saturday was still being withheld Sunday because authorities have not been able to notify relatives, a spokesman for the Orange County coroner’s office said.
Authorities say the plane apparently ran out of fuel before it crashed into the roof of the Lucky Food Centers warehouse about noon Saturday. Both men died at the scene. There were no injuries on the ground.
The pilot, Douglas M. Dike of Riverside, was trying to make an emergency landing at Fullerton Municipal Airport, about a mile from the warehouse, police said.
