The woman everyone craned to see on the Golden Globes red carpet Sunday night wasn’t a nominee or a presenter. She was the plus-one of George Clooney. Amal Clooney’s white gloves telegraphed a cool elegance. But elsewhere, white sizzled. And silver overtook the warmer metallics of the past.
