Cormorants on a collision course

Chris Orr and her husband, Lou, were at Legg Lake in the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area on Thursday watching the cormorants build their nests. Amidst the activity, two double-crested cormorants nearly collided, Orr said.
“While I was following an incoming cormorant and trying to focus on it, I saw another bird approaching the same area and thought, ‘Oh, no, they’re going to crash!’ ” she said.
Orr used a Canon EOS 7D Mark II.
