Highlights from Maryland’s first year in the Big Ten
The football team finished 4-4 in the East Division, winning at Penn State and Michigan. The victory over the Nittany Lions was the first for the Terps over Penn State since 1961.

The men’s basketball team finished behind only Wisconsin in league play (14-4) after being picked 10th in the preseason. The Terps set a school record for regular-season wins (26) and advanced to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2010.

The women’s basketball team went unbeaten in league play (18-0) — the first team to do so in the Big Ten since 1999 — and advanced to the Final Four for the second straight year. The Terps set a school record for consecutive wins (28).

The men’s lacrosse team shared the inaugural Big Ten regular-season championship and advanced to its third NCAA tournament final in five years.

The women’s lacrosse team won the Big Ten regular-season title and, after losing its first game of the season in the conference tournament, won its second straight national championship. Taylor Cummings (McDonogh) was named the Big Ten Female Athlete of the Year on Wednesday.
