Baseball: It’s Las Vegas vs. SoCal this weekend
- Share via
Seven high school teams from Las Vegas will be traveling to Southern California on Saturday and Sunday to play winter baseball games against Chatsworth, El Camino Real, Birmingham, Valencia, Alemany, West Ranch, Saugus and Canyon.
The Southern California teams will travel to Las Vegas Feb. 7-8.
Birmingham, the defending City Section Division I champion, held its own last weekend in the JSerra tournament, going 2-2.
Pitchers Adrian Rodriguez, Jonathan Russomano, Isaac Meza and sophomore left-hander Eduardo Rosales put together a string this winter of 23 innings without allowing an earned run.
Rosales has been a surprise in winter ball and adds to Birmingham’s depth for a West Valley League this spring that will be loaded with top pitchers.
